Cardi B Indicted in Strip-Club Case

Nearly a year after being involved in a strip-club altercation, rapper Cardi B was indicted on 14 charges by a grand jury.
Last year, Cardi was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of third-degree assault after facing allegations that she tossed a hookah pipe and drink glasses at two bartenders in a Queens strip club. Both charges have been superseded by the indictment, TMZ reports.
According to the outlet, some of the new charges include two counts of felony attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, misdemeanor reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy, and harassment.
Two months ago, the 26-year-old rejected a plea deal that would have required her to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, but would have earned her a conditional discharge. While she wouldn't have to serve time in jail, Cardi would have had to stay out of trouble or face stiff consequences.
In October, Cardi turned herself in to the police in NYC. At the time, a source told Page Six, “Cardi is heading down to the precinct to claim her name and innocence.”

View StoryTMZ reported that Cardi had her mug shot taken and she was fingerprinted.
Her lawyer shared with reporters, “We're aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm at the club that night. We expect that the matter is going to be resolved expeditiously.”
The lawyers of the alleged victims told TMZ, “She continues to threaten them and clearly thinks her celebrity status is going to get her out of this. But it doesn't matter if her name is Cardi B or Carl B... if she commits violent assaults, she will be brought to justice."
Cardi didn't seem fazed by the allegations — she was spotted flashing a smile after her trip to the police station.
Last month, prosecutors told TMZ that they took the case to the grand jury after discovering some unspecified information in their investigation.
One night before the indictment, Cardi attended the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards in Beverly Hills, where she won the award for Songwriter of the Year.
Cardi's arraignment date, when the charges will be unsealed, is June 25. Her next hearing date with the judge is August 9.
