Actor Jim Carrey isn’t afraid to speak his mind!
Over the weekend, Carrey expressed his displeasure over President Trump while being honored with the Charlie Chaplin Award for Excellence at the 2018 Britannia Awards.
“Extra” caught up with Carrey, who made it clear that he will not be silenced. Of his anti-Trump cartoons on Twitter, he said, “I just want to express it in a positive way. I want to turn everything that is painful into art.”
Despite getting numerous threats, they aren’t stopping him. He shared, “Apparently, I was threatened on Twitter. I didn’t see the thing; I heard there was some severed goat head and 'I’ll see you soon' kind of thing, but you know, you got to speak, man, this is not a time to clam up, not a time to get frightened. You got to do what you got to do. It is dire at this point.”
Carrey also discussed the Charlie Chaplin honor, saying, “It’s an impossible dream. It’s ridiculous, in the most wonderful way.”
He added, “I‘m inspired by people like Charlie, the sheer volume of the original moments he created.”
