Last night, actor Rob Lowe was honored with the Icon Award at the UCLA Neurosurgery Visionary Ball.
“Extra” spoke with Lowe, who opened up about the recent wedding of Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk.
Rob shared, “My wife and I have known Gwyneth since she was 17 years old, Blythe and her dad, it’s sort of really family, it was just a beautiful, family oriented, immaculate, loving, fun. I love weddings, I love weddings, and you gotta figure Gwyneth knows how to do something like that.”
All the money raised at the ball benefited the Department of Neurosurgery. Rob emphasized, “The money that we raise here goes to such an important part of all of our lives. Brain issues, spine issues are huge.”
Lowe was happy to be part of the event, saying, “I have a long history with UCLA. UCLA was the very first school that I applied to, uh college, uh, got accepted to, uh did not go to, became an actor. So this is a good homecoming for me.”
He joked, “It's hard to believe that, uh, I've reached the point where I can be an icon, but I will happily take it. It's a great evening.”
