In late August, Kyle Pavone, lead singer of the rock band We Came as Romans, died unexpectedly at the age of 28.
TMZ reports that Pavone’s girlfriend was the one to call the police after finding him unconscious in his bathroom. A used syringe was found on the counter of the bathroom sink.
His girlfriend revealed to police that he struggled with heroin use in the past.
Pavone’s family told the site that he died of an accidental overdose.
According to the police report, Pavone was given a shot of Narcan by the EMTs, but went into cardiac arrest after arriving at the hospital.
After news broke of his passing, the surviving members of his metalcore band wrote on Instagram, “Today music lost another great with the passing of Kyle Pavone of We Came as Romans. Kyle’s tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing. We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent."
