On Thursday, “Extra’s” Mark Wright caught up with Brooke Burke at The Global Gift Foundation USA and Eva Longoria Foundation’s Women’s Empowerment luncheon at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar in Los Angeles, where she opened up on life after her separation from husband David Charvet.
Brooke revealed, “It's kind of interesting. Everyone is calling it ‘the situation,’ but you know, it's time to embrace it, and it was necessary and it's really not about sadness or giving up, it's about knowing when to let go as a woman, trying to make the best of a challenging situation.”
She continued, “I'm raising a family, and David and I have a lot of love and respect for one another, so it's like walking into a new chapter with an open mind and trying to make it positive... and it’s hard.” Brooke added, “No doubt about it. It's new and unfamiliar and a lot of adjusting, but I'm doing it for happiness, right?”
Does she have advice for women going through the same thing? Brooke said, “You have to listen to the signs as a woman, and you have to be able to walk through change and embrace it, and stay strong, and have your team, and count on your friends... and know who you are and know what you need. It's really about defining boundaries as a woman for me, and change is okay.”
