Mary Kay Letourneau’s Husband Vili Fualaau Arrested
Vili Fualaau's arrest last month in Burien, Washington, is just making headlines now.
TMZ reports that Mary Kay Letourneau's husband was arrested for DUI after he allegedly failed to stop at a light, hitting two vehicles. Police reported the deejay had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Law enforcement sources said Vili declined to take a field sobriety test at the scene after Mary Kay arrived and told him to wait for his lawyer to arrive.
When he took a blood alcohol test two hours later, his BAC level was at .08, and he had THC in his system.
Fualaau posted bail and was released. He is due in court this week.
Mary Kay is a former sixth-grade teacher from the Seattle area who was arrested in 1997 for having an affair with Vili, who was her 13-year-old student. She was 34 at the time and had a husband and four children.
Letourneau served seven-and-a-half years in prison, and went on to marry Fualaau after her release in 2004. They have two teenage daughters, Audrey and Georgia.
He filed for separation last May. She filed a petition to have the case dismissed, but Vili moved forward. It is unclear whether they are still moving toward divorce.
