Prince Harry Engaged to Meghan Markle — See Her Ring!


On Monday, Prince Charles announced that his son Prince Harry, was engaged to actress Meghan Markle!

In a statement, Charles revealed that Harry popped the question to Meghan earlier this month and will tie the knot in the spring.

The statement added, "Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents."

For now, Harry and Meghan will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

On the same day, the newly engaged pair held hands at a photo-call in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace in London, where she sported a ring on her left finger.

When asked when he knew she was the one, he replied, "From the very first time we met."

In a BBC interview, Meghan and Harry shared details about the romantic proposal, saying, "It was a cozy night. We were roasting chicken. It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got down on one knee.”

Harry added, "It was a really nice moment — it was just the two of us. I think I managed to catch her by surprise.”

Meghan chimed in, “Yes, as a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing! I said, ‘Can I say yes now!’"

People magazine reports that the ring, which has two stones and three diamonds, was designed by Harry and British jewelers Cleave & Company, the jewelers preferred by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.


Two of the stones belonged to Harry's mother, Princess Diana. He said, "The ring is – is obviously yellow gold because that’s what – her favorite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana and the – the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this – on this crazy journey together."

According to Us Weekly, the couple took a trip to the countryside for the weekend ahead of the big announcement.

The two have been dating for a little over a year.

Markle was previously married to Trevor Engelson, but they called it quits in 2013 after two years of marriage.
