'Aquaman' Footage Makes a Splash at Comic-Con
EW reports fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego were treated to footage from the upcoming "Aquaman" movie, starring Jason Momoa.
The film is directed by James Wan ("The Conjuring"), and becomes the latest stand-alone movie about a superhero, hot on the heels of the record-breaking "Wonder Woman."
Momoa will also appear as Aquaman in the new "Justice League" movie, which will feature Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Wan told the Comic-Con crowd, "In a lot of ways, this is an origin story. I don't really have a lot to show at this point. You get to see a whole different world we've never seen before that is so strikingly original."
In the clip, fishermen are seen reacting when a fishing pole is pulled — hard — by what appears to be an undersea army of fantastic ocean dwellers, including a multi-finned shark. The footage ends with Momoa as Aquaman, triumphantly holding up his trusty trident.
Momoa appeared in the flesh with the trident before the geeked Comic-Con crowd!
The film, which comes to theaters December 21, 2018, also stars Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison and Yahya Abdul-Mateen III.
