Why Robert De Niro Is Not Impressed by President Trump So Far
Robert De Niro is not impressed with President Trump's first week in office.
Last night, the actor chatted with “Extra's” AJ Calloway as he premiered his newest film, “The Comedian,” in NYC, saying, “To me, it's not impressive.”
The 73-year-old, who spoke out against Trump during his campaign, added that he is not surprised. “From the beginning, what you saw is what you saw, what you saw is what you get, what you see now is what you might be possibly getting — and that's it. We gotta figure what we're gonna do.”
The Academy Award winner smiled when AJ asked what he would name a movie about President Trump's time in office so far, saying, “Let's Wait and See — For a While.”
As for “The Comedian,” De Niro plays a stand-up comic trying to make a comeback. He shared that stand-up is not something he would venture into it real life. “No, I don't think I would,” he said. "It's a lot of work. It's not easy, and you have to be committed to it.”
“The Comedian” hits theaters Friday.
