Only “Extra” went backstage with Pink after her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Fresh off her Daytime Emmy win for Ellen's new theme song, Pink sat down with “Extra's” Renee Bargh to reflect on the loss of music icon Prince, her new music, and life with 4-year-old daughter Willow and husband Carey Hart.
Pink shared a story about meeting Prince for the first time. “I love Prince, that's number one… When I was 19, I was straight off the streets of Philadelphia, I met Prince and asked him to collaborate with me and he asked me if I owned my own masters. I didn't, and I told him that. And he said, 'Well, call me when you do.' And I didn't like that… so I retorted... the point is, he was, and will be forever amazing.”
The 36-year-old is back to her colorful roots with a fresh new pink 'do. “I forget that I have tattoos. I forget what color my hair is.” She smiled, “I don't know what I look like.”
The singer admitted she only looks in the mirror once in a while. “I look in shops occasionally as I'm walking by them, but no, I'm constantly looking for this little blonde monster that's running around somewhere.” That little blonde monster Pink's talking about is her 4-year-old daughter Willow!
Willow is making a cameo in the video for Pink's new single, “Just Like Fire,” from the movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass.” Pink raved, “She's so good in it.”
Asked what it was like to work with her daughter, Pink replied, “She's a ham. In the first scene, she's sitting on the mantel. And there's a ladder she had to climb up to get up there. She's like, 'Can I go up the ladder now? Is it my turn yet?' I'm like, 'It's my ladder. It's my video. It's my turn.'”
Willow is following in Mommy's footsteps in another way as well — doing aerial work! Pink revealed, “She does silk. She does. She has a silk in her playroom.” When Renee asked if Willow is aware of her mom's rock-star status, Pink responded, “She thinks I'm a rock star of a mom, but she thinks I'm an awful singer… she's like, 'Mama, shhhh, terrible voice.' I'm like, 'People pay me for this dude!'”
Pink is getting ready to celebrate Mother's Day with Willow and hubby Carey Hart, who she jokes isn't making any plans for Sunday. “No, I should be nicer to him.” She laughed, saying, “He's really cute.”
As for her ideal Mother's Day? She commented, “My favorite Mother's Day would just be an all-day cuddle… And we can watch Disney movies all day.”
