Taraji P. Henson Laughs Off Her Super Bowl Faux Pas
Taraji P. Henson had a ball at the Super Bowl, despite accidentally posting on social media about Maroon 5 playing the halftime show.
“Extra's” AJ Calloway was chatting with Alicia Keys' husband, artist Swizz Beatz, and his son Egypt when Taraji playfully crashed the interview. It was the first time that Swizz and Taraji met, and she told our cameras, "Alicia, we finally met!”
During the interview, Taraji laughed off her Instagram mistake, which said, "YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!! #maroon5 is life to me!!! #superbowl50 #HappyCamper.” She admitted with a smile on her face, “I sent a tweet, Instagram, and I called Coldplay Maroon 5. It's okay, it's okay, I saved it, I pulled it back.”
After she recognized her mistake, Taraji deleted her original post and wrote on Twitter, “Oooooooopppps. Lmao! #Superbowl50.”
She explained how she was made aware of the flub. “Then I get texts from Angie Martinez, Mary J. Blige, all of my friends are like, 'Change the post, it's not Maroon 5!!!'”
The 45-year-old laughed, “Are they mad because I didn't say Beyoncé first? She didn't come out first. And then it's like.. oh, it's not Maroon 5. No more shots for me.”
Taraji has been busy shooting “Empire,” which will return to FOX on March 30th.
