Leonardo DiCaprio’s Ex Bar Refaeli Detained in Israel
On Thursday, supermodel Bar Refaeli was detained for suspected tax evasion, according to the BBC.
After several hours of questioning at the Tel Aviv offices of the Israel Tax Authority, she was released on ￡129,000 bail.
The model, one of Leonardo DiCaprio's most famous ex-girlfriends, has been accused of not reporting the millions of dollars she earned abroad and the celebrity benefits she received, including a Range Rover and Lexus.
Authorities also accused Refaeli of trying to hide that she was a resident of Israel by living in homes registered under the names of her mother and brother. Israelis who are non-residents are exempt from declaring income earned abroad.
Refaeli's lawyer denied the allegations, saying, "There is no drama. In the end, this is just a civil dispute. No one cheated anyone else. It will all clear up soon.”
