Khloé Kardashian & Lamar Odom's Complicated Relationship Over the Years
While Lamar Odom is fighting for his life at a hospital in Nevada, his ex-wife Khloé Kardashian is right there by his side.
The former couple have made headlines since the first time they were spotted together in 2009. They married that same year, just four weeks after they started dating.
At the time, Khloé's sister Kim gushed to People, "They're very, very happy. They've been together a few weeks and are literally inseparable. Khloé thinks he's amazing and makes her laugh and smile constantly."
The decision to get married so quickly shocked Odom's ex Liza Morales, who was the mother of his three children. She told the Daily Beast, "Forget the tight knot I felt in the pit of my stomach the morning I received the text message with three simple words on the screen. It read, 'I'm getting married,' and it was from the man I'd spent more than 10 years of my life with. Years that included us getting engaged in 2000 and becoming parents to one daughter and two sons. Yet not long after our separation, Lamar Odom was getting married to Khloé Kardashian, a woman he'd met four weeks before. How could the man who'd constantly given me reason after reason for why we couldn't get married just yet now be ready to tie the knot so quickly?"
In 2011, the two let the world see their whirlwind romance for two years in their "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" spin-off show "Khloé & Lamar."
In 2013, Khloe filed for divorce from Lamar after he was arrested on misdemeanor charges for DUI, then failed to stay in rehab for more than a day.
Kardashian and Odom's divorce was finalized in July 2015. Though the two are no longer together, Khloé still has a great deal of love for him. In a recent episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," she told Kim, "Lamar and I loved each other deeply, and I don't believe in just acting like that relationship never existed. Things happened, but that doesn't just stop me from caring about him or loving him."
The show also featured Khloé taking a call from Lamar after his best friend, Jamie Sangouthai, died in June. She said, "I'm really on high alert for Lamar, because anything will set him to spiral, and that's kind of the last thing I want for him."
In the August/September issue of Complex magazine, Kardashian shared about her ex, "Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I've ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him. I think Lamar's going to always be that person (for me), but that's what made it so special."
