Nick Jonas sat on a panel at the gay film event OutFest in L.A. on Sunday night to talk about his role as a closeted gay fighter on DirecTV's "Kingdom," but wound up revealing the roots of his affinity with gay people.
The JoBro veteran said that one of his friends who was in a show Nick was in at the age of eight left the theater with his male partner. Nick turned to his father, Kevin, a minister as well as the brothers' manager, and said, "That's different."
Nick fondly remembers his dad's response: "It's all love. It's all the same."
Nick says he connected with that concept immediately, and went on to praise his dad for the insight.
