One Direction Speaks Out After Shocking Exit, Fans Take to Twitter to #SaveZayn
The tweets are alive with love for One Direction's Zayn Malik!
Band members Harry Styles and Liam Payne talked directly to fans on Twitter for the first time since Zayn Malik announced he was leaving One Direction.
Payne opened up about about his feelings on Malik's decision and what it's like for all of the band members to deal with the fame of being part of a popular boy band.
"To a lot of people it's just a bunch of silly kids in a band but to the people involved it means so much more," wrote Payne. "This last week has been some of the worst times, possibly the worst it's something we are all deeply saddened by."
Payne talked about the good times the five guys had touring, and promised that the bandmates would remain the closest friends. He went on to assure fans that "it's far from over" and that it's okay to be sad and upset, but "I do ask everyone who is a fan of us to please keep ur faith in us I'm sure there's a lot more to come all love."

The 21-year-old Styles showed his support to Malik and fans by posting, "All the love as always. H." A few hours later, Payne jumped on Twitter for the first time and posted about his emotional day, "So glad to be in bed after a long and strange 24 hours."

Both celebrities and fans came out to show their support for 1D and Malik's departure with #SaveZayn trending on Twitter.
John Stamos (along with Josh Peck) took to Vine to post an audition video to possibly be Malik's replacement and posted his own message about the audition, "The day I've been waiting for!#Zaynmalik #OneDirection #Stamostime @shuapeck."
Malik made the surprise announcement on their 1D Facebook page, saying he was leaving the band. The news came just months after rumors of his imminent departure swirled at the AMAs.
Malik left a world tour last week, and wrote yesterday, “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan will continue making music together as One Direction, despite rumors that Harry is the next to go.
The band's Facebook statement added, “The four of us will now continue. We're looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour.”
