'Frozen Fever': Is 'Making Today a Perfect Day' the New 'Let It Go'?
It was all about “Frozen” on Thursday. First Disney announced the “Frozen” sequel, then fans got to hear the new song “Making Today a Perfect Day,” from the short film “Frozen Fever.”
The tune pays tribute to “Frozen's” mega-hit “Let It Go,” and features Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell as Elsa and Anna.
The animated short, accompanying “Cinderella” in theaters this weekend, takes place on Anna's birthday. Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa's icy powers get in the way.
Disney announced plans for a full-length sequel at the company's annual shareholders meeting in San Francisco.
Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter said, “We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
Kristen Bell helped announced the news with a funny Instagram pic and message, “Dreams really do come 2!!! #FROZEN2 #itsofficial”
