Dr. Drew's 'Biggest Health Scare'
"Extra" Lifechanger Dr. Drew Pinsky experienced his own terrifying, life-changing moment during a second honeymoon to the Caribbean with his wife of 20 years, Susan. The doc experienced severe flu-like symptoms. Drew recalls, "I couldn't talk, I couldn't answer the telephone. I started getting violent chills on the plane on the way home."
It turns out Pinsky had a case of H1N1 flu, complicated by pneumonia. Drew tells Mario Lopez, "Having the biggest health scare of your life has put things in perspective. It's aligned a lot of things. It's made me appreciate my family, my wife, and to really pay attention when other people are suffering."
Back on his feet, the doc talks about his new half-hour program, "Lifechangers," an informational show that aims to help others with a variety of problems -- from difficult relationships to drug addiction.
