Iskra Lawrence Shares Postpartum Pic and Gets Candid About Motherhood
Model Iskra Lawrence wants fans to see her “current reality” as a new mom.
Lawrence just welcomed her first child with Philip Payne, and she's calling the past few weeks “the most challenging of my life.” The couple has not revealed the child's name or gender, and call him or her by the initials A.M.P.
Iskra shared a side-by-side photo of herself at nine months pregnant, posing in pink lingerie with her makeup done and hair in curls, next to a postpartum photo of herself in underwear, a bra and a robe, barefaced with straight hair as she holds her newborn close.

The 29-year-old explained that she is “grateful” to be a mom and is aware that she is “super lucky to be able to conceive naturally."
She also wanted to share the “realness” of her journey, revealing she never anticipated having a baby with colic and the struggles that come along with that.
“I felt so much more prepared for pregnancy and even though I had great advice and read up on newborns, NOTHING could have gotten me ready emotional and mentally to see the love of our lives screaming, bright red, whole body tense and seemingly in discomfort for hours a day and not getting enough sleep.”
Lawrence explained that after catering to all of their baby's needs, she also “must have ordered every product that says it can soothe colicky babies.”
Model Iskra Lawrence Welcomes First Child
View StoryShe gushed over Philip, calling him the “most patient incredible daddy… who I can't put into words because I'll cry but is the best team mate I could have dreamt of.”
Iskra also detailed her “current reality,” which is “maybe 1 shampoo a week, still living in my adult diapers (because yes you bleed for weeks after birth) sleep deprivation, leaky nips + hormonal acne.”
She squeezed in a few workouts, but she's struggling to reply to work emails and feels like she's letting friends down because she isn't responding to texts or FaceTiming with friends who want to meet the baby.
Lawrence ended the post, writing, “Baby A.M.P is our dream come true and we know it's going to get easier with time… I hope by sharing my struggles and being vulnerable some of you going through it feel less alone and know it's ok to not be ok.”
Previously, Iskra shared A.M.P.'s birth story on Instagram, revealing the child had to be resuscitated by a midwife.

Iskra continued, “After 24 hours of unmedicated active labour and 2.5 hours of transition our midwife saved your life by resuscitation, you truly are our miracle and I will be grateful every single day for you.”
