Last night, “The Post” star Meryl Streep made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” where she opened up about the star-studded ceremony.
On Sunday, Mariah Carey revealed that she accidentally stole Meryl’s seat at the show. She tweeted, “Got caught mingling on the way to the loo during a commercial break.. took the first seat available, happens to be right next to Steven Spielberg 😮😮 Cut to next commercial break, guess who comes back to her seat...”
Mariah added, “(me) Dear Meryl, please forgive me!!! 🙌🙌 (MERYL STREEP) You can take my seat any time! 😂😂 💖💖💖💖.”
Of what happened, Streep joked, “Bitch stole my seat! Yeah I came over and there she was next to [Steven] Spielberg sucking up. She said, ‘Oh, my God, they made me sit down!’”
Meryl compared the incident to a game of musical chairs, explaining, “Because, you know, we’re moving, they make you… Everyone has to drop to their seat. I was left out. I said, ‘No, no. Stay there. I’ll sit on your lap.’ Because, you know, it looked comfy.”
Both were nominated at the Golden Globes, which was hosted by Seth Meyers.
