Comedian Tracy Morgan is still counting his blessings, two years after nearly dying in a car crash.
In June 2014, Tracy survived a crash that left him in critical condition. The collision, which killed his friend James McNair, was caused by a Walmart truck.
At this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, Tracy, joined by wife, Megan Wollover, told “Extra” on the red carpet, “It’s so nice to be here. And I’m not just talking about at the Emmys. I’m talking about alive.”
Megan gushed about how lucky she was to have him by her side, saying, “I’m just happy to have him alive and have him here is even more important.”
The 47-year-old was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” not his only nom. “I’ve been nominated before,” he said, "but being here, I feel magical. I feel like the Desmond Tutu of show business. I feel like the Gandhi of show business, all this love and goodwill, but I just want to do my best to give it back through my sense of humor.”
Nowadays, Tracy is looking forward to the future. When asked what is next for him, he responded, “Tomorrow. When I wake up in [the] morning now, I open up the curtains and I say, 'The sun is out.' The rest is up to me; I’m gonna leave that in God's hands.”
