“The Secret Life of Pets” star Kevin Hart knows how to make even the most serious situation seem funny, including his recent Los Angeles home robbery.

The robbers reportedly walked away from Hart's home with about half a million dollars worth of clothes, jewelry, and watches. He recently opened up about the burglary to “Extra” special correspondent Ben Aaron, saying, “They took a bunch of stupid stuff.”

Hart recently posed a fake photo of the burglar and wrote on Instagram, "Here is a picture from the security cameras of the jackass that's been robbing houses…. Real smart move wearing the cool ski mask that shows ur eyebrows & the bags under ur eyes. We are on yo ass man…. I'm about to show u the power of social media…. One of my followers might recognize u and might not like you which would mean that they could careless about giving u up....Lets play a game of tell on the robber real quick… who knows I might get lucky!!!!!”

After the post, many thought it was the actual suspect from the security cam, but it was actually just a fake-out. Hart revealed, “Yes, um stock footage from a guy who robbed something a long time ago. Ha, so it’s not the guy… but the good news is we can rule him out.”

Kevin’s “Secret Life of Pets co-star Louis C.K. chimed in, smiling, “But you have a nice house?” Kevin responded, “I have a very nice house.” Louis joked, “So you deserve to get robbed now again.”

Kevin and Louis are getting animated together in the movie, with Kevin playing an adorable white bunny named Snowball. Kevin commented, “A thug… You’re looking at a guy with a dark past and I need to put that into something, this bunny was the right piece of material to let it out.”

Louis plays a spoiled terrier named Max, who is trying to get used to living with a new rescue dog his owner brought home. He said, “I pictured it as if I was in that situation living with a woman and sleeping on her floor and then she got another bigger boyfriend.”

"The Secret Life of Pets” hits theaters July 8.
