Matt Damon Credits 'Incredible' Wife Luciana for Taking the Pressure Off
Matt Damon took time to chat with "Extra's" Renee Bargh during a sneak peek at the extended trailer for his upcoming film, "The Martian."
During the interview, Matt opened up about life at home with wife Luciana Barroso. He gushed, “I have an incredible wife… so she takes all the pressure off me.”
The two have been happily married for almost 10 years, and are also workout buddies who hit the gym together. "I have to get in shape for this 'Bourne' movie coming up. I've done yoga. I cannot touch my toes. So I would not say we do couples yoga, no. She does yoga and I've tried to do it a few times and it's sad.”
Though Damon got into shape for "The Martian," he had to hide his body under a prosthetic stomach. “I was pretty fit for this movie, and then they put this giant stomach on me. You just made me look pregnant!”
In "The Martian," Matt's character is believed to be dead after a storm. Matt was asked what he would miss most if he were in his character's shoes. He responded, “I think it's just that human contact.”
Matt also set the record straight on rumors that he was invited to meet the Pope when the Pontiff visits the US. He said, “Oh, I think he's amazing. He's also Argentinian, so everybody on my wife's side of the family obviously thinks he's amazing.”
