Time Magazine Breast-Feeding Cover Sparks Controversy
The recent Time magazine cover -- which shows a Los Angeles mother, Jamie Lynn Grumet, breastfeeding her rather large 3-year-old son -- is generating serious buzz on the social media platforms.
The story is on "attachment parenting," a trend that, Time reports, has been on the rise over the past two decades. Attachment parenting includes extended breast-feeding, co-sleeping and "baby wearing," where infants are physically attached to their parents with slings.
Many are taking to their Twitter accounts to express their views on how old is too old to breast feed. Actress Alyssa Milano, who had a baby last year, tweeted "@Time no! You missed the mark! You're supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms. Your cover is exploitive & extreme." Read more tweets here!
