"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel chatted with "Extra" correspondent Renee Bargh about her new TV comedy - and how she is occasionally confused with pop star Katy Perry.
"One time I was actually at the Grammys and a girl came up to me and asked for my autograph," explained Deschanel. "And then she was like... 'What??' I was like, 'Oh, I know who you're looking for. She's over there.'"
Ironically, the actress is a singer/songwriter herself, fronting the group She & Him - and is married to Ben Gibbard, lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie.
But for now, Deschanel is concentrating on her new FOX show, "New Girl." She described her character -- who moves in with three guys after discovering her boyfriend with another girl -- as "a mixture of adorable and dorky, I guess."
Could Zooey ever live with guy friends? "Definitely, definitely. I've always had a mix of guy and girl friends."
Watch how she handles it on the small screen when "New Girl" premieres September 20 on FOX.
