Dana White Promises UFC 251 Will Be a Safe Sporting Event

“Extra’s” Charissa Thompson spoke with UFC President Dana White as he promoted UFC 251.

Of the event, which will take place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, White commented, “I always felt through this pandemic that we could pull this off safely and do live fights.”

As for how everyone would stay during the event, White said, “Basically they've given us a 10-mile radius on the island which will be like the safety zone. We will be the only people there in the hotels, the restaurants, in the arena. They built private training quarters for the fighters and everybody will basically be quarantined on this island. And this will be the safest place on earth to do a sporting event.”

The fighters will be battling without any fans in the arena.

UFC 251 kicks off July 11 on ESPN and ESPN PPV.
