“Extra” special correspondent Alecia Davis spoke with San Diego pastor Miles McPherson, who is promoting his new book “The Third Option: Hope for a Racially Divided Nation.”

Amid all the nationwide protests, McPherson revealed how the killing of George Floyd has affected him. He said, “I realized I was carrying this burden of powerlessness to the white culture and then rethinking about my family and how they must have felt powerless, and it just brings me to tears.”

Miles also weighed in on his friend and football star Drew Brees, who has apologized for his controversial comments about those who would still take a knee during the national anthem as a protest of police brutality.
