Parker McCollum’s Stunned Reaction to First CMT Awards Win

“Extra’s” Alecia Davis spoke with Parker McCollum backstage at the 2022 CMT Music Awards after his win for Breakthrough Video of the Year for his fan-favorite hit “To Be Loved by You.”

Parker admitted, “It’s good. I didn’t know that was going to happen.”

Since the singer didn’t see it coming, he said he was “nervous” to speak onstage.

During their chat, Parker also thanked those who have been alongside him for the ride, including his wife Hallie, his mom, and his team.

He also showed his appreciation for his fans and country radio, saying, “Those two things right there, my career was going well, but it went real, real well when country radio got in and put us on the map.”

As for how he was going to celebrate, Parker shared, “Probably go home and go to bed. I’m on the road for five days, so I’m going to go home and watch ‘Forensic Files.’”

McCollum also raved about Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams’ performance of “Heaven.” Watch!
