Craig T. Nelson Remembers Friend and Co-Star Kirk Douglas

“Extra’s” Billy Bush spoke with Craig T. Nelson today about his late friend and former co-star Kirk Douglas.

Nelson remembered Kirk as “a remarkable guy, really something.”

He also recalled how Douglas would buck the system, explaining that Douglas had the original director of “Spartacus” fired so an unknown Stanley Kubrick could direct. The screenplay was also by a then blacklisted Dalton Trumbo. Nelson said Douglas “put his foot down and said, ‘This is what I want.’”
