Why It’s Important to Catch Colon Cancer Early, Plus: The Telltale Signs

“Extra’s” Billy Bush spoke with Dr. Armand Dorian, who stressed the importance of early detection of colon cancer after Chadwick Boseman’s shocking death on Friday.

Dr. Dorian, who did not treat Boseman, said, “If you catch it early, at stage 1, your 10-year survival rate is over 90 percent. You catch it at stage 3, your 10-year survival is only 10 percent, so it’s so important to catch this cancer early. Once you get it at stage 3 and 4, the cancer [has] passed the colon and [metastasized] into other organs.”

Dr. Dorian also discussed the telltale signs of colon cancer.
