Why Ryan Gosling Felt ‘Grateful’ to Thank Eva Mendes in Heartfelt Golden Globes Speech

It was a big night for "La La Land" at the Golden Globes last night; the film won a record seven, including awards for Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Winning the hearts of all with his acceptance speech, Ryan Gosling talked about his relationship with Eva Mendes and their daughters, something he rarely speaks about in public. While accompanied by his co-star Emma Stone and director Damien Chazelle, Ryan explained to “Extra” backstage, “I was just grateful to have an opportunity to thank them publicly. Obviously, I thank them in my life, but it’s wonderful to have an opportunity to really speak to how much they mean to me and how responsible they are for a lot of things I am able to do.”
