J.K. Rowling Spills the Beans on Johnny Depp’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Role

J.K. Rowling just dropped some major news for “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” fans.

“Extra’s" AJ Calloway caught up with the writer and producer of the film at the NYC premiere, where she dished, "There's a little Johnny Depp in this one. There's much more Johnny Depp in the next one.”

Playing coy about knowing any info, star Eddie Redmayne joked, "This is the weird thing. We have Warner Bros. snipers everywhere telling us what we're allowed to say…” But then when AJ said J.K. already spilled the news about Depp, Redmayne said, “It was great. It was great!”

It was apparently the best kept secret, even for the actors! Eddie’s co-star Katherine Waterston didn’t even know Johnny was in the movie. "I worked on this movie for seven months. I was on set almost every day. No one ever mentioned that dude's name.”

You can see Johnny Depp, Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” in theaters November 18.
