Why Maksim Chmerkovskiy Cried Before 'DWTS' Return with Vanessa Lachey
This week, pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy made his return to the dance floor with Vanessa Lachey on "Dancing with the Stars.”
Last week, rumors swirled that the two weren’t seeing eye to eye, which Lachey thought was a “bummer.” This week, they bonded while prepping for their Rumba, which was dedicated to her son Phoenix, who was born premature last year.
Maks told “Extra’s” Tanika Ray, “I’ve never cried before a performance before… I see everything that she has gone through and what so many people go through.”
Maks and his wife Peta Murgatroyd also had their own emergency after welcoming son Shai. He said, “We went from a hospital back into a hospital with Shai. It was so early, it took me by surprise and this was so reminiscent of that. Watching something like that happen to your baby…"
