Why Andra Day Hesitated Taking on the Role of Billie Holiday
“Extra’s” Cheslie Kryst spoke with singer Andra Day, who is portraying iconic jazz singer Billie Holiday in Lee Daniels’ new film “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.”
Andra admitted that she didn’t want to do it at first because she didn’t have much acting experience.
After meeting Daniels, she agreed to do the movie, which has paid off! Day is now nominated for a Golden Globe for her work. She said, “I just feel grateful.”
“The United States vs. Billie Holiday” streams February 26 on Hulu.
