Jon Favreau Reveals ‘Stars Wars’ Scene that Inspired ‘Mandalorian’ TV Series
“Extra’s” Terri Seymour caught up with Jon Favreau at D23, where he dished on Disney’s new TV series “The Mandalorian.”
He told Terri, “‘The Mandalorian’ is based in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. It is all new characters. It follows a gunfighter in the outer rim after the Empire has fallen, after ‘Return of the Jedi.’”
Favreau went on, “In a universe filled with chaos, you have tough characters emerging, and so it is one of the grittier aspects of ‘Star Wars’… kind of like the beginning of the ‘Stars Wars’ films when you met all the unsavory figures at the cantina. That was a big inspiration for us.”
The series begins streaming on Disney+ on Nov. 12.
