‘Gladiator II’: Why Paul Mescal Didn't Reach Out to Russell Crowe (Exclusive)

Paul Mescal and Ridley Scott sat down with “Extra’s” special correspondent, “Good Day Chicago’s” Jake Hamilton, in London to talk “Gladiator II.” Paul spoke about a line he delivers about his character Lucius becoming Maximus (Russell Crow from “Gladiator) and Lucius’ journey from being an individual to a reluctant leader. Paul explained why he didn’t reach out to Russell before filming, but said he would love to “trade war stories” now. Paul and Ridley also opened up about their similar sensibilities when it came to filming, and Paul raved about watching “a master at work” in Ridley. Plus, Ridley confirmed that this movie is chapter two of three. “Gladiator II” is in theaters November 22.
