Gillian Anderson Dishes on ‘The Great’ Character
“Extra’s” Cheslie Kryst spoke with Gillian Anderson as she promoted the second season of “The Great.”
Anderson plays the mother of Catherine, who is played by Elle Fanning on the Hulu series. Of her character, Gillian dished, “She’s arriving in Russia to find out what the heck her daughter is up to, overthrowing her husband from the throne.”
Gillian noted that she hadn’t watched the show until she was offered a role. She said, “I watched the first season and that humor is up my alley.”
Anderson recently played Margaret Thatcher on “The Crown,” but she’s also playing another famous woman, Eleanor Roosevelt, on a Showtimes series. She commented, “Eleanor Roosevelt… it was a huge honor to be a part of that project.”
“The Great” streams on Hulu November 19.
