AJ McLean and Kelly Rowland sit down with “Extra’s” Alyssa Smith to dish on their Netflix competition series “Building the Band.” The show leaves looks out of the equation, as the contestants connect based only on hearing each other, which Kelly said encourages them to lead with their intuition and trust their chemistry. AJ spoke about dedicating the series to the late Liam Payne, who was a guest judge, recalling how he lit up the room and wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to guiding the contestants.
