Why ‘Collateral Beauty’ Was Emotional for Will Smith
Will Smith’s new movie, “Collateral Beauty,” is a heartwarming holiday film. It also helped the actor through some recent tough times.
The superstar spoke with “Extra" at the New York City premiere, where he explained his role in the film. "A character experiences a death. And he writes letters to love, time and death. And he gets angry and rants to love, time and death and mails the letters. And then love, time and death respond."
With Will’s father passing away last month, the movie became something more to him. He reflected, "It just hit me so beautifully at the right time of my life.”
"Collateral Beauty" is in theaters Friday.
