‘Extra’ on the Red Carpet at the National Board of Review Awards
Hollywood’s A-listers made their way to the big apple for this year’s National Board of Review Awards. Amy Adams, Casey Affleck and Mark Wahlberg were a few of the names taking home awards last night.
“Patriots Day” actor Mark Wahlberg and director Peter Berg received the Spotlight award for their creative collaboration on the film, which was based on the Boston Marathon bombing.
Mark said of the achievement, "Any time your film is recognized, it's amazing. The most important thing was that the people of Boston really appreciated how we handled the story and everything else was just, you know… extra.”
“Hidden Figures” star Octavia Spencer represented her film, about how three black women helped put the first American into orbit. Accepting the movie’s award for Best Ensemble, Octavia said, "I'm excited that people are finally going to get to hear the story of these women."
