'Extra's' Best Moments with the Obamas
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have chatted with “Extra” many times over the years, even before he took the presidency. As the Obamas' eight years come to a close in the White House, these are some of our favorite moments with them.
When he was Senator Barack Obama, Mario met up with him after his cover of Men’s Health was published. Senator Obama joked, “I'm not in Mario Lopez shape, you know.” He did reveal, “I usually get up about six and I get my workout in; that way, I know that whatever else happens during the day, I've started the morning well.”
Michelle and Barack’s love for each other is apparent in their interviews. Michelle gushed over her hubby in an interview with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway, remembering the moment she knew he was the one for her. “He gave a speech and he talked about the world as it is and the world as it should be… I was like, ‘This guy's different…' Thank you for taking me down memory lane, so when he doesn't put his shoes up tonight I'll remember, ‘Ah, that's why I love you.'”
President Obama might be in charge of the country, but he knows who runs the household. When “Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli asked what was next for the family after the White House, he responded, “Um… well… you know what? I think it's fair to say that won't be up to me... It'll be up to Michelle.”
