Kristen Stewart and Vin Diesel Talk ‘Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk’

Kristen Stewart and Vin Diesel sat down with “Extra” while they promoted their film, “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” a movie set during the Iraq war.

Diesel, who plays Shroom, an Army Sergeant who bonds with a teenage Private just before the 19-year-old soldier is sent back to the United States on a Victory Tour, explained that the film is not what you expect from a war-themed movie. “It doesn't just solely revolve around our perception of war,” he said. “Ironically, it more focuses on the spectacle of entertainment and the exploitative nature of entertainment which is kind of something else to tack on to a war picture, right?”

Stewart chimed in, “It's one of the first versions of a coming home story that our generation has regarding the Iraq war and it's not something that any of us have very much clarity on and I think it presents that confusion and frustration and pain and pride and all of the conflicting emotions that go into it.”

“Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” hits theaters on Veterans Day, November 11.
