Meghan Trainor Shares Dating Story Behind Her Single ‘Wave’
Singer Meghan Trainor sat down with “Extra’s” Jenn Lahmers to talk about her new music.
The star, who has an album dropping early next year, revealed the history behind her single “Wave.”
She told Jenn, “It was a true story about this guy who kept leading me on almost, but said he couldn’t be in a relationship with me because it would never work out.”
Trainor continued, “I wrote this song because I didn’t know how to express myself and I sent it to him and it worked… It made everything clear, and he’s like, ‘Okay, I get it. I understand.”
Since then, Meghan has found love with husband Daryl Sabara. “He’s so sweet and knows exactly what I want and is too good to me,” she said.
Will fans find any songs about Daryl on her album? That’s a definite yes. She told Lahmers, “When I started writing this album, I wrote too many love songs… My dad was like, ‘What is this? A Daryl album?’”
