Spike Lee Defends the Use of Satire in 'Chi-Raq' to Address Gun Violence
"Extra's" Tracey Edmonds recently sat down with "Chi-Raq" director Spike Lee to chat about the film's controversial use of satire to tackle the issue of gun violence in Chicago.
Spike defended the movie, saying he made it to "save lives," and "have an honest discussion about guns in this country."
Lee also chatted about Jennifer Hudson's involvement in the film, saying, "People know what happened to her, with three of her family members being murdered. Do you think Jennifer Hudson would be in this film if I was making fun of black folks killing each other in Chicago?"
Watch our interviews and check out the film in theaters on Friday, December 4.
