After six years of marriage, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West called it quits in 2021. They had a combined $2.1 billion in assets, according to Forbes.

Bill and Melinda Gates announced their split in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage. According to Forbes, Bill was worth $130 billion. Divorce docs indicated that they had no prenup, but they already had a plan to divide up their real property, personal property and debt in a separation contract.

Rapper Dr. Dre and his wife Nicole Young called it quits in 2020 after 24 years of marriage. The exes reached a divorce settlement in 2021. TMZ reported that Nicole would walk away with $100 million (broken into two $50 million payments) of his $820 million net worth.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and wife Mackenzie announced their split in January 2019 after 25 years of marriage. MacKenzie later revealed more details about the $130-billion divorce. She kept 25% of the couple's Amazon stock, leaving her with about $35 billion, according to CNBC, which is equivalent to 4% of the company's common stock.

There was reportedly $400 million at stake in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's protracted divorce battle.

Record executive Scooter Braun was ordered to pay wife Yael Cohen $20 million in their divorce, along with $60,000 per month in child support for their three kids. She also kept their $30 million Brentwood family home, her 2021 Land Rover Defender and some art. Braun retained the $65-million mansion he bought in L.A., a private jet and more than 100 pieces of art.

After Madonna and Guy Ritchie called it quits on their eight-year marriage in 2008, he reportedly walked away with somewhere between $76 and $92 million.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch and wife Anna split in 1999 after 31 years of marriage. The divorce reportedly cost Rupert $1.7 billion.

Steve and Elaine Wynn's 2010 breakup cost approximately $1 billion. The couple was together for 19 years before going their separate ways.

Mel Gibson's 2011 divorce from Robyn after 26 years of marriage was said to cost a whopping $425 million, half of his $850 million fortune.

NBA star Michael Jordan paid Juanita, his wife of 17 years, a reported $168 million when they split in 2006.

Beatles star Paul McCartney forked over nearly $50 million to ex-wife Heather Mills in their split. He later called his marriage to Mills his biggest regret of the decade.

Neil Diamond and Marcia Murphey parted ways in 1995 after 26 years together. The breakup cost an estimated $150 million.

Famous director Steven Spielberg and his wife Amy Irving were only married for four years. When they split in 1989, she reportedly walked away with $100 million.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren's famous divorce in 2010 ended with an estimated $100-million payout. They were together six years.

Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison divorced in 2004 after 21 years of marriage. She walked away with $85 million, according to Forbes.

Oscar winner Kevin Costner reportedly handed over about $80 million — a record-setting amount at the time — when he split from Cindy Silva in 1994 after 18 years of marriage.
