2024 Emmy Nominee for Outstanding Entertainment News Program

James Houghton, an original cast member of "The Young and the Restless" who later won four Daytime Emmys for his work writing on the show, died in August of 2024. His death was announced in February 2025

Actor John Erwin, who appeared on the vintage series "Rawhide" (1959-1965) and who voiced Morris the Cat and He-Man, died "around December 20" at his home. His co-star Alan Oppenheimer, 94, said in a statement, "Working with John Erwin was a ballad of irreverence, professionalism and surprise. He was a series actor, writer, performer of commercials, musician, painter and an all-around lovely gentleman, an indelible addition to my life.” Erwin, who died of natural causes, was 88.

Christian Juttner, who as a kid actor appeared in the 1978 films "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," "Return from Witch Mountain," and "The Swarm," died of natural causes November 29. His death went unreported in the media for nearly two months.

Anti-gay crusader Anita Bryant died at 84 in December. Her death was not announced until January 9, 2025.
