Megan Ryte

Correspondent
Megan Ryte is a multi-hyphenate artist, boasting a 15- year career as a DJ, radio and television personality, journalist, and writer.
Currently, Ryte is a Contributing Correspondent for “Good Morning America,” Nightline’s “Impact” on Hulu, and ABC News. She also serves as a Correspondent for “Extra.” In addition, Ryte has a weekly segment on ABCNL titled “The Drop,” where she breaks down the hottest news in music.
Before becoming a respected veteran in the music industry, Ryte began her steady rise as an ambitious teenager spinning at parties in Hampton, Virginia. Soon after, she worked her way through multiple markets, including Miami, DC, Philadelphia, Houston, and now NYC. Prior to doing stories and “Pop News” for “Good Morning America,” she broke into local television news at Fox 26 in Houston. In 2016, not too long after she arrived in NYC, Ryte worked as a Special Projects Reporter and host at WNYC- Fox 5. In 2019, she then began working the red carpets for “Extra” as a Special Correspondent. In 2022, Ryte was a regular on “The Tamron Hall Show.” She has also been featured on MTV, VH1, BET, HBO, NBC, ABC, and A&E.
As a DJ, Ryte has traveled the world controlling massive crowds at some of the most notable venues and high-profile events.
Ryte was the voice of Middays at NYC’s iconic Hot 97. In 2018 and 2021, she also performed as an artist, and was billed on the legendary Summer Jam main stage. Both sets took place at MetLife Stadium in front of an audience of over 55,000 fans.
As Ryte traveled internationally as a tour DJ, she became passionate about not just playing music, but creating her own. In 2018, she landed a deal with Interscope Records, under which she released two singles as an artist. With equal parts hustle, exuberance, and a decade worth of A-list connections, Ryte has also added executive to her résumé. On April 16, 2021, Ryte released her self-titled debut album under her own imprint, RyteWay Music.
Fueled by life-altering adversity and Ryte’s unique ability to pair unlikely but complementary talents on the perfect track, the LP is a masterful mash-up of diverse sounds— R&B-leaning cuts, reggae-infused melodies, club bangers, and hard-hitting lyrical records. Ryte brings her joyful energy to the project and hopes it stands as a peek at what’s to come, including continuing her work in journalism, becoming a first-time author, director, and more hits.
