That One Time Idris Elba Gave Chris Pine a Black Eye
“Extra” recently caught up with Idris Elba at the Superdry flagship store in New York, where he chatted about a fight scene gone wrong with co-star Chris Pine on the set of “Star Trek Beyond.”
In the film, Idris and Chris faced off against each other while they took on the roles of Krall and Captain Kirk. Elba said, “I gave Chris Pine a black eye.” He joked, "He tried it with me, man. I was like, ‘Boom, have that.’ He ended up using it in the film. He’s a show-off, man. We could have covered it up; he just wanted to show everyone that he had a shiner."
“Star Trek Beyond” hits theaters July 22.
