Why Denise Richards Decided to Join ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’
Actress Denise Richards is taking on reality TV!
“Extra's” Tanika Ray sat down with Richards, who just signed to join Bravo's “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
As to why she decided become part of the cast, Richards explained at Universal Studios Hollywood, “I went through a lot and have been really private about a lot of things, and just in a really good place right now... and thought it would be fun, so I thought why not?”
Her good friend and fellow “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Rinna also helped her make the decision. Richards said, “I just asked her about it, she just loves it and has so much fun, so I just thought it would be fun to do.”
Denise also knows some of the other stars, saying, “They're a strong group of women with strong opinions, and I love that and I respect that. I think at the end of the day, no matter what goes on between all of them, they are there for each other and support each other, and I think that is really wonderful.”
Richards' boyfriend, Aaron Phypers, and her daughters will also be appearing on the show. She gushed, “He's a great guy, he's game for being part of it.” As for her kids, she said, “I told them if they want to they can, if they don't want to, it's up to them, I don't want to pressure.”
When Tanika pointed out that ex-husband Charlie Sheen could come up on “Housewives,” Denise wasn't concerned. She commented, “Anyone that's gone through a divorce or has a partner they're no longer with, and there's a lot of emotions... I think people will be able to relate. He and I are in a good place today. I always focus on that, and focus on the girls. They don't need to be privy to any discord… I want them to see things to be positive.”
The 47-year-old was also on hand to promote her film “Destined to Ride,” available on DVD and digital tomorrow.
She dished, “It's a fun family film, something my daughters can watch... I've done a lot of things they can't watch. I was really excited to be a part of it, and we are animal lovers and my girls ride horses… it's a feel-good movie.”
