Jared Leto Reveals Why 30 Seconds to Mars’ MTV VMAs Performance Could 'Go Completely Wrong'
“Extra's” Charissa Thompson sat down with 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto at Universal Studios Hollywood, where he teased the band's upcoming performance at the 2017 MTV VMAs.
Jared and the band are set to perform their new single “Walk on Water" Sunday at the star-studded ceremony. Jared said the performance will be “something that's never been done before.”
He hinted, “We're using new technology, so it can go completely wrong and be a disaster, but we'll see… fingers and toes crossed.”
The 45-year-old shared about the single, “'Walk on Water' is the beginning of a new chapter for us. The song is exploding — it's number 3 at iTunes right now.”
Earlier this week, the lyric video for the song was released. He said, “The footage that's on that video, we actually shot on July 4 on a single day all across the country. We had camera crews filming and we created a portrait of America, which will be a documentary, a companion piece for the album.”
Jared revealed that the goal for an album release was "to finish before 2020.”
