“The Bachelorette” star Rachel Lindsay sat down with “Extra’s” Mario Lopez at Universal Studios after millions of people tuned in for her first episode. Rachel is not only breaking the mold by becoming the first African-American bachelorette, she also met some of her suitors before taping began.
Now, she has revealed she is already engaged!
Rachel told Mario, “I’m so excited, it’s just exuding from me… I can’t hide it.”
When Mario tried to some intel on the proposal, she said, “He asked my parents, he got down on one knee — yes, all the traditional things happened.” The lucky guy also got her parents’ seal of approval. She commented, "I had the ultimate decision, but my family, their opinions matter to me.”
The lawyer from Dallas is currently sporting a very simple band on her finger, which will be upgraded to a Neil Lane sparkler once the show airs. She hinted, “You got to be surprised with the Neil Lane bling.”
And while she isn’t planning the wedding just yet, Lindsay already has some ideas. “I’m focused on the engagement right now. I think I want a big family, I have a huge family and I want everyone to come.”
Would Rachel ever consider a TV wedding? “I wouldn’t throw it out. I am willing to do it.”
The thing that impressed her most about her new fiancé, Rachel revealed, was “confidence.”
